Updates from the Medical Student Committee

The Medical Student Committee worked with the MRS foundation and DEI committee to start a yearly Student Scholarship for the ACR national meeting. This will provide $1,500 to cover travel and hotel expenses for the student to attend. Applications were reviewed by members of the DEI and Medical Student committees of the MRS and a single winner was awarded, Connor Shea, a 3rd year at Central Michigan University College of Medicine.

We completed our 3rd Annual Medical Student Symposium, Virtual Event, on May 31, 2023. Five students won the competition with 2 honorable mentions (winners were from CMU, MSU and U of M). The 5 winners were awarded $100 prizes sponsored by the MRS foundation.
